Walking into Rouge day spa was a bit like coming home after a long day. Although as a mom, the reality is that coming home usually means nothing but chaos with little one to deal with. THIS was like coming home after a long trip and feeling the comforts of a warm bath and sliding into cozy pj’s. It’s that lovely nostalgia of all the familiar and comforting things you love about home.

Lindsay, the spa’s owner was so relaxed and down to earth, greeting me with freshly painted nails and a bounce in her step. I liked her immediately. The last time I had visited Rouge day spa was the night before my wedding almost 8 years ago, so when Lindsay invited me for a treatment and tour of the spa, I already knew I was going to be spoilt!

Run from a beautiful house in Kenilworth, this special little piece of heaven is just that, a haven of calm and tranquility. The thing that sets it apart from many other spas is that it’s done away with all the pretentious aires and graces while still maintaining a unique, professional and very special spa experience.

What I really like about Rouge spa is that you are encouraged to make use of all their facilities. Now I know most spas claim to do this but in reality you often feel like you are being pushed out the door once your treatments have ended. Rouge spa encourages their clients to stay and use the pool and tanning deck all day if you wish and with a gorgeous snacks and sushi menu enticing you to stay on, it’s no wonder many girls choose to linger and make the most of their time here. With a gorgeous lounge with free wifi (and a fire place for winter), a patio with tables and chairs, a fully equipped open plan kitchen and a pool with lounges for summer, they really have all their bases covered.

It’s the perfect place to enjoy a bachelorette party or any special girly occasion for that matter. Lindsay will accommodate you in every way and make sure your expectations are met. Rouge spa is available for private functions and its no surprise it has become a popular spot for girls, no matter the occasion, to indulge themselves. They offer a catering service too!

But the thing I have to love the most is that they offer a spa package called Chick Flicks. For this you takear group of girlfriends where you all choose a movie and enjoy either an express mani or pedi while sipping on bubbly and munching on popcorn. I know right?? This is something I can’t wait to experience with my girlfriends. With winter on our doorstep I couldn’t think of anything better than sitting in front of a crackling fire, having my toes taken care of and hanging with my girls! I know, I had you bubbles.

Now special mention needs to made for the amazing Koko who works at Rouge spa and who was my therapist during what I can only describe as the most heavenly, life changing treatments I’ve ever experienced. I was treated to a Chocolate Back Treatment, which was an hour of chocolately bliss. I fell into that beautiful sleep where you are just in that perfect state to feel everything but where you are switched off to everything else. At one point, around the time she moved to my neck and head, I realized I was dribbling, I kid you not. I was in heaven!!!!
