Can you remember this stunning mommy and her gorgeous little Luella? Nelleke (better known as Nell to many) is back in the kitchen today sharing such a yummy recipe. Heres what she has to say:
Being a mum, I realise the opportunity I have to teach my daughter about making good food choices and appreciating delicious treats that are healthy too! The ï¬rst time I gave these date treats to her, she couldn’t quite believe her little tastebuds! I really believe that children can be taught to appreciate more healthy sweet treats and there’s a huge trend toward moms becoming a little more industrious. So, if this is all a little new to you, this is a great recipe to get started on. All you need a a good quality food processor and some very basic kitchen utensils. The ingredients are also super easy to ï¬nd at your local health shop or supermarket, and believe me, you’ll like them more than your little ones!
Raw Date Brownies!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of almonds
1/2 cup of pecan nuts
2 cups of merjool dates, pitted
2 tsp of raw honey
3-4 tbsp of raw cocoa/ regular cocoa
Method:
In a food processor – Blits the nuts until they are ï¬ne, but not powdery, with different sized pieces.
Add the merjool dates, the honey and the cacao.
Now blits everything together until it forms a ball and comes away from the sides.
Push this into a baking tin and place in the freezer for one hour.
Now, they are ready to cut! Cut the brownies into blocks and keep them covered in the fridge.! They will last up to a week in the fridge.
Enjoy!
