Oh my heavens how cold is it??? I’ve slowly progressed further and further away from desk and am currently sitting in my bed catching up on admin and blogging stuff. Picture this : 2 tracksuits tops and another hoody on over it, socks up to my knees over my thick tights and a scarf tightly secured around my neck to ensure minimum warmth escaping. It’s just too cold!
I honestly feel like this past weekend was when I really felt the cold for the first time and it was the first time we also felt a little constricted by the weather when it came to entertaining the kids : shorter bike riding sessions, a whole lot more screen time and opting to sit inside at the the beautiful Jonkershuis instead of allowing the kids to run wild on the grass as per the usual!
So Ive really had my eyes peeled for weekend activities to do with the kids that make sure we can all get out the house and enjoy ourselves in the winter months. And then I remembered I was recently told about Dora The Explorer hitting our shores in the next few weeks!!
Families and kids are invited to join Dora and her pals Boots and Diego on a voyage of discovery as they embark on an exciting trip to Treasure Island in search of the ultimate pirate party. Help them navigate over the Dancing Mountain and through the Silly Singing Bridge in pursuit of the Pirate Piggies. Along the way, Dora the Explorer fans will use their map-reading, counting, musical and language skills to successfully help Dora reach Treasure Island and avoid that pesky fox, Swiper!
It sounds like it’s too good to miss. If it’s anything like the Scooby Doo Live show last year, I know my kids are in for a real treat. It’s the perfect way to enjoy quality time with the kids and like I’ve said before, I love that it introduces our kids to the culture of live theatre as apposed to just sitting watching something on a flat screen.
Dora the Explorer live stage shows have enjoyed success around the world and have now been seen by more than four million people including audiences in Australia, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Kuwait, Russia, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Singapore and New Zealand.
