mom blogger

Since I crept out from under the rock I had been hiding a year ago, I have discovered so many amazing blogs and today I want to share them with you. Maybe you already know them, maybe they are new to you too. Either way these are some serious kick-ass female bloggers who in some way or another inspire me or make me laugh so hard I wet my pants (damn you kids!)

Here are the bloggers I aspire to be like, the ones who remind me who I am, what I want out of life with kids and most importantly why I started writing in the first place. They take me straight back to my first post and remind me that my story is significant. That my journey is my own.

In no particular order:

Enjoying the small things

I’ve been following Kelle Hampton’s blog Enjoying the small things for a while now and there isn’t anything I don’t liked about this woman. She shares her journey as a mom to a beautiful down syndrome little girl with such love and bravery. (She has other kids too) Her writing has brought me to tears on several occasions, there is true beauty in every word. She has become a source of hope to many going through a similar journey and her blogs name shines through in every post as she inspires YOU to enjoy the small things. You will fall in love with her too.

 Mommy shorts

This mom from NYC will crack you up. Ilana is mom to two gorgeous little girls who feature often in her funny interview videos. She always has something funny to write about and I love the different topics she covers. There is something for everyone!! The thing that makes Mommy shorts stand out from other blogs is her key focus on interacting with her readers by sharing videos and entering funny contests. I love her original spin on what it entails to be a full-time mommy blogger. Inspiring for a lightweight rookie like myself! Go check her out!!

A cup of Jo

Joanna Goddard is more than just a mommy blogger. She writes about decor, food, relationships, style and much more! I love the way she writes and you learn pretty quickly why she followed her dream and quite law school. (*GASP) She is an extremely talented writer and I find such authenticity in her words. She has the ability to make you feel like you are sitting on her couch listening to her talk, as though you have been friends all your life. As a blogger, you will find a wealth of knowledge and inspiration in her posts and if you blog she will always, ALWAYS remind you of why you started blogging in the first place.

The Bloggess

One thing is a guarantee if you follow this blog, you will die laughing every time you log in to read a post. Jenny Lawson manages to give the most accurate descriptions of life as a parent and you cant help but want to be friends with her. There are some people to who writing just comes naturally, and she is one of them. Her humor is like no other and you are reminded time and time again that you are not alone in your role as mother. This is one of my favorite posts of hers where she gives advice on how to deal with Trolls on your blog. It’s just too good not to share!!!

The mama bird diaries

There is something about the author of this blog that reminds me of myself. Well I like to think so anyway. Besides her major academic background, I feel like our hearts are quite similar, there’s just something that resonates with my soul when I read her posts. Kelsey Kintner is honest and funny without trying too hard and she tells stories about her life with family that make you want to embrace the crazy even more. You know what I mean? She makes motherhood seem fun (which lets be honest is not always the case!) and she writes about her family with such passion. A family that consist of 5 children, including 5-year-old twins! Supermom right? She is original, funny and inspiring all wrapped up in one. You wont be sorry to discover her little space on the web.

The Mouthy Housewives

Written by five amazing writers, this blog is such a breath of fresh air. You will find that most mommy bloggers take their work extremely seriously, but I love how these housewives take it all in their stride and generally taking the piss out of everything. It’s basically an advice blog where they will offer you the funniest, craziest, silliest advice known to man. Its pure genius, really it is! I wont take up too much time telling you about them all individually, but follow them and you will soon get to know all these fabulous woman through this ever so funny advice columns.

Subscribe to these blogs ladies, you will be doing yourselves a serious favour!

Love,

Leigh xxx
