What is the Cape Town Carnival you ask? Well I’m glad you’ve asked because it looks like a huge big party not to be missed.

The Cape Town Carnival is a glamorous celebration of the transformative power of creativity and our African identity with its diverse array of communities and cultures.

Every year, this festive occasion inspires our city and her people to create, build and play together . thousands of spectators converge annually on Green Point’s famous Fan Walk to join the extravagant parade of costumed performers, musicians and moving floats.

The Cape Town Carnival is operated by a non-profit trust with the purpose of staging this world-class event, simultaneously creating jobs and benefiting our local economy.

The raised seats mean you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the event seated on a bleacher-style terraced platform, at a stand of your choice. How rad?

You can find details about the party and lots of exciting things that will be happening on their website, so go check out Cape Town City Carnival to see if you would like to go.

All you need to do is tag the couple you would like to join you for a double date with a difference on the Facebook thread.

*Uber are offering R100 promo code for first rides as road closures will make parking tricky. Which is even more reason to make a fun night out of it and have a few drinky-poohs!

The event will be held on the 12th of March 2016 on the Fan Walk of Greenpoint, Cape Town . an area which has become synonymous with BIG STREET CELEBRATIONS. The street, which is flanked by hotels, restaurants and bars, is only a stone’s throw from the popular V&A Waterfront.
