There’s nothing I love more than seeing my kids develop a hunger for books. That burning desire to listen to a story unfold and their imaginations run wild. Where they are transported to another world, a place where magic can happen and where the excitement builds with every flip of the page.
As it turns out my kids have both inherited my passion for such a novelty and so they are often found sitting in their beds or in a corner of the house reading books. Often the same books over and over! So when we received a delivery from the book owl, you can only imagine their excitement!! Books delivered straight to your door by an owl? What could be better than that?
The Book Owl has to be one of the most wonderful ideas I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing in a very long time. It’s more than just a monthly subscription of books. It’s the excitement waiting for them to arrive knowing that only the best carefully selected books are making their way to you by post. It’s the personal letter accompanying the books addressed to your child telling them about the stories inside, which are beautifully wrapped ensuring maximum excitement as they tear off the paper. It’s like Christmas every time!
What I love the most about the concept is that each package is tailor-made for the individual child. Kirsten (the lovely brains behind the business) spends time carefully selecting books based on age and personal interests. My kids were blown away with their selection and one in particular, Big red bath bY Julia Jarman and Adrian Reynolds, which is fast becoming their all time favorite.
Kirsten du Toit is clearly passionate about getting children to read from a young age, which she says has stemmed from her own sons interest in books. I love seeing moms invest quality story time in their kids as I, just like Kirsten believe it sets a strong foundation for learning and school.
If you would like to try them out, Kirsten is offering one lucky reader the chance to win a once off delivery worth R255. To win this you will need to:
