I stumbled across My Little Woods last year while scrolling through my Facebook feed and was totally blown away by the little I saw. I had to take a deeper look and find out more about this company. Why had I never heard about them before? I guess once again it’s all credit and thanks to the wonderful power of Social Media. And it just so happened that my introduction to this wonderful brand was perfectly timed. Having only just launched at the end of last year, it coincided brilliantly with my search for brands to partner with for The Ultimate Collaboration.
What was even more of a pleasant surprise was just how keen and eager Aimee, owner of My Little Woods was to get involved from the get go. She needed very little persuading and jumped on board with both feet, sponsoring a gorgeous table and chairs set seen below.

How beautiful are their dipped table and chairs? They tied all the other features together so perfectly!

We focus on modern trendy furniture items, specifically made from wood. Our goal is to produce high quality, locally made items, made available to you via our convienient online store.
We pride ourselves in bringing you carefully created handmade items manufactured from our Cape Town factory.
Her’es what the lovely Aimee has to say about her new little business venture which, as it turns out is already onto great things!
1. Is this your full time job? If not, what do you do?
Yes, My Little Woods has been my full time job since mid 2016 when the concept was born.
2.How and when was your brand born?
My husband and myself had been toying with the idea of starting a boutique furniture line for a few years. Come 2016 when I decided that I wanted to focus on children’s furniture and decided to pursue this and thus My Little Woods was born!
3. Was it an overnight success or did you experience many teething problems?
No it was not an over night success, it has taken a lot of hard work but the response from the general public and customers has been great. I am constantly learning and growing along my journey.
4. What has been your greatest lesson in the industry? Any tips for people starting out?
I have been humbled by the willingness of other women entrepreneurs to help you succeed along the way. The community of women entrepreneurs and momtrepreneurs in South Africa amazes me, these are people willing to encourage, build and help one another in business. So for anyone starting out I would say network, ask questions and don’t be afraid to ask for help from others in like minded business.
5. As a momtrepreneur what are some challenges you face with having to balance it all – family, work and other commitments?
I’m not a momtrepreneur yet 🙂
6. What is the dominant theme running through your product range? And what is your signature product?
I would say at the moment My Little Woods signature product has to be our popular wooden rocking horse, I absolutely love it! Overall we have a general theme of simplistic, trendy and made from wood items.
7. Who/what are your biggest influences? Or your greatest inspirations? ( I’m guessing your little ones!)
I draw inspiration from global design trends with a keen focus on bringing European style and quality items to the South African consumer.
8. What has been your biggest achievement thus far as a brand?
Hard to say as we are so new, however my highlights have been launching and seeing the public’s positive reaction and the collaborations I have been apart of to date.
9. What are your future hopes for you business?
I hope to create a solid steady business that stays true to our roots in creating the best quality, locally-made items that will last a life time.
Just look at a few of the other products they specialise in………
Please go see for yourself all the wonderful products that make up their range. And don’t forget that we have an AMAZING competition launching next week Wednesday to WIN a makeover!! ❤ love the creativity. The room looks so designer and comfy at the same time. Well done!
My baby girl arrived a little early, so she doesn’t actually have a decorated baby room at all!
I would love the opportunity to win a beautifully styled room by our very own local designers.
I love the idea of her having her own little haven to grow up in. She is now 4 months old and is still in our room! Would love to see her thriving in her very own bedroom/playroom 🙂
This would be a dream come true!
Diagnosed with ovarian and cervical cancer at age 20 and going through 2 phases of stage 4 cancer took a toll on me mentally and emotionally.
Doctors assured me that i would not be able to have any children,as my uterus would not be able to sustain the pregnancy and i only ever had a 10% chance of falling pregnant.
By the grace of our Almighty, i fell pregnant in 2015 for the first time, but at 18 weeks lost our little girl. All hope was lost and then really believed the Doctors predictions. Life and acceptance was hard. Our marriage was left with a void, but it made our bond so much stronger, knowing we had an angel up in heaven looking down upon us, protecting us.
To our surprise after going on a diet, thinking i was getting fat! we found out we were pregnant!
it wasnt easy, i almost lost this one too, but his a fighter. Despite him growing with 2 fybroids and 2 amniotic bands, his persevered and we have made it to 36 weeks! and now we are impatiently waiting for his arrival!
yes our miracle! he deserves a prize like this! He deserves the life and blessing he has provided us!
Your story is so touching! What a fighter you are!! Holding thumbs for you xxx
Wow love this designer! stunning work.
