The thing I really love about Facebook, despite it’s weird and ever-changing rules, is the fact that you have so many amazing brands that pop up in your news feed, almost daily. Ones that you might normally not have discovered. I love it even more that most of these designers and brands are local – another upside of Facebook is that it narrows brands down to specific demographic!

The brains behind these brands are people who have seen a gap in the market, had an idea, developed that idea, and executed their plan to bring us a wonderful end product. And we get to be on the receiving end of all of that creativity and skill. Respect!

This is exactly how I felt when I stumbled across Saint & Summer early last year. Saint & Summer are a shoe brand designed by two Durban friends Julia and Roxann.  Everything about their jelly sandal range caught my attention . They are fresh, sexy and simple yet so uniquely stylish. They are the kind of sandal you could team with a little black dress or slip on for a sexy day around the pool. If there is one thing I look for in a summer sandal its versatility. I may be a mom now but I still occasionally get to experience those days on the beach that turn into a cocktail on Camps bays main strip.

Unfortunately I’m not the best online shopper. *GASP! I know right? I have no idea what it is but so often I just forget and end up buying what I see at the shops. I have wanted to buy a pair of the Saint &summer sandals since I first discovered them but for whatever reason I just didn’t get around to it.

So when I saw their new winter range hit my news feed I literally had a Il be damned!! moment. I was not going to let winter come and go without trying out their shoes for myself. When Roxy asked me what pair I would like to try I must have changed my mind about 3 times because I couldn’t decide between the ankle boot and the gold toe pump. Eventually I decided on the boot and when they arrived I knew I had made the right choice. Or thought let’s be honest, that’s what I’m going to say when my pumps arrived that I just ordered! EEEEK! You see how I’m getting better at this online shopping thing? I mean, where have I been the last decade?

After one wear of my boots I knew this was a shoe brand that I would love in every season going forward. They are extremely good quality and perfect to add a sexy rock ‘n roll edge to any outfit. As a mom who is often in and out of the car dropping and carrying kids before heading off to meetings or events, they are the perfect all round shoe that enables me to be a mom but also feel cool and hip! With a range like this, that is not only stylish but also affordable, there is really no excuse for moms to look phony and outdated. I mean seriously guys!
