I have said it before and I will say it again : Having a little girl to dress up is one of the things that has excited me most about having a girl third time round. As much as I’ve tried to dress my boys up in cool clothes over the years, there’s something about making your way through the rails of cute dresses and rompers on display in shops like Keedo. That, and the fact that my boys are too old now to let mommy faff over them too much, means that I really have to make the most of having a little girl to play dolly dolly with everyday.

So obviously the clothing at Keedo international was no exception when this weekend past, I visited their Cavendish branch to select some cute stuff for Hunter. Don’t get me wrong, there’s SUCH cute stuff for boys too, so much so in fact that I even selected something from the boy’s range for her! I guess I’m just saying that for the most part, shopping for clothes with my daughter has to be one of my highlights so far and shops like Keedo are largely responsible for my ever-growing baby clothing obsession!

I mean how flipping cute is this denim dungaree romper? And do you want to know the best part? I bought it in size 6-9 months (she’s only just turned 5 months!) which means it will be perfect as we make our way back into the cooler months. Throw on some tights, moccasins and a cute little cardi and this summer outfit transforms into a perfect winter one. And this feather dress (featured below) she wore to my moms birthday breakfast at the coffee bloc today was just too pretty!

Over the next few weeks I will be posting more of her gorgeous outfits we bought her for christmas on Instagram so keep a look out! If you are looking for great quality, beautifully made garments and toys, you may want to pop in and have a look. There’s still time! They also make gorgeous birthday gifts for little ones, so if your christmas shopping is already done, there will be many more occasions to shop for!

I have always loved Keedo and all that they stand for in terms of creating sustainable fashion. This is after one of their main objectives.

SUSTAINABLE FASHION: WHERE LOVE AND CARE IS BORN

As Professor Dilys Williams, Director of the London Centre for Sustainable Fashion, once said; “Fashion should be about challenging the status quo.” It should be about making a difference, enhancing the lives of employees, customers and communities, and protecting the environment.

With a great enthusiasm for educating children, and a passion for Mother Nature, the South African designed children’s clothing brand, Keedo, has taken up this challenge. With the slogan “where love and care is born” the brand has succeeded in using fashion for good for almost 25 years – a success that continues to build momentum. From stylish occasion wear, to fun playtime and school outfits, the Keedo range takes the child’s age, activity levels and comfort into consideration – and the result is astonishing.

“Our slogan is our mantra, it is the ethos by which we operate. With a focus on sustainable sourcing, our whimsical garments are soft, comfortable and lets kids be kids,” confirms Nelia Annandale, Keedo Founder. “At Keedo we care about the children of the world and the environment they grow up in. The designs aim to teach children about the wonder of nature, encouraging them to respect and treasure the environment.”

What I didn’t know about Keedo was that they have added so much to their store since I last visited. Now they boast a beautiful selection of gorgeous soft toys made out of Keedo material scraps, (which means that you have beautiful soft toys in the same fabrics as the latest Keedo ranges), books, wooden toys, puzzles and even scent diffusers! Perfect for little christmas gifts or spoils for any occasion really!

Timeless, durable and safe wooden toys are both educational and sustainable, serving to pique the interests of the young, imaginative mind.

“It is a wondrous thing to behold, this growth and development of a national footprint, from something that began as a mere idea,” concludes Annandale. “It is a journey that has delivered much excitement, the ultimate fulfilment and a platform to do good – and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
