We’ve been huge fans of CLM Home for years now. In fact our very first room makeover collab for my boy’s Monochrome bedroom was way back in 2016, when they were still known as Clever Little Monkey! I loved how on trend they were with the rest of the world. At a time where great kids online decor was still quite hard to find and not easily accessible in SA , they revolutionised the online decor scene and came in with a bang in 2005.
When I discovered them on my parenting journey in 2011, I would spend hours trawling their website and social Media Pages looking at all gorgeous kids decor and dream of their beautiful products filling my home. And then not too long ago, in 2020 they re-branded, adding whole new range of upmarket luxury home decor – lounge, office you name it! They certainly are a brand that have gone from strength to strength, testament to their incredible quality, work ethic and ability to keep up with world-wide trends.
When it came to Hunter’s room, I knew we would be doing something different, a little riskier might I say? 🙂 It’s been a decor era of beige, rust and cream and while I have loved it (especially for a baby nursery!), I can’t help but feel like our kids need more color and character in their spaces. Something that is a true reflection of their wild personalities.
And that is exactly what this room is, it epitomises everything that is her – bright, bold, energetic, fiery…. a heart oozing of sunshine and happiness. The softer elements of light wood and rattan, represent the softer parts of her, her calm spirit and gentle nature. A beautiful contrast to the many facets that make up this sweet little girl.
Her obsession with bright colours all started with her love for the movie Encanto and so when we were scrolling through the CLM Home website she spotted this rug and quite literally squealed “That’s the one mommy! I love it! Its so beautiful and bright!” And as they say, the rest is history. My work was cut out for me, but I was up for the challenge.
From there we chose the most beautiful Bed also from CLM Home , The Kika – I love it because its simple and understated but yet still holds its own in a room. Its often the first thing I look at when see the beautiful bedding and scatters styled on top it. It’s honestly the most lovely bed for styling throws (their lovely ivory scalloped throw featured here too!) and scatters as you’re still able to see the structure of the bed with pops of wood seen here and there.
There were so many other products that I spotted and which I thought would work super well with this look. Like this Botanic plant rug for instance.
The other bed which came in close second was the Xen Metal Bed which, had we gone with some pops of black, would have been the perfect choice too. I love bringing in different elements of texture and there’s something quite quirky and even industrial about a metal bed. I actually love them for a boys room!
Here are a few more beautiful pieces I’ve had my eye on for our garage “Chill out Den” we are starting to plan. We have a really cool double garage space (with beautiful exposed brick) which is currently used as a gym and DJ room but which we would love to make a space for the kids to chill on the weekends, when the adults want the inside lounge to ourselves 🙂 Picture this : beanbags, comfy couches, a cool rug, TV Unit and hanging lights, with rock n roll pictures and musical instruments hanging on the walls. It will be a space they can chill with their friends and watch movies, play video games and listen to music. Such an important part of the next season of life for us.
We love this simple YU TV Media stand as it’s not too bulky and perfect for a flat screen and gaming consoles.
And paired with this practical Concept Couch Bed and cool Skull Rug, I would say we are well on the way to creating a really edgy Chill Den for the pre-teens in the house!
Whether you’re looking to upgrade a living area or kids bedroom, or simply looking for fresh bedding and small decor items, there is honestly such an amazing variety of quality products over CLM Home and I highly suggest you go check them out.
