I’ve been using Oil Science CBD oil products for close to three weeks now and I can say with all honesty, it’s been a rather radical experience! My journey with CBD oil began 5 years ago when my Mom-in-law was diagnosed with cancer, and although I had tried and tested CBD oil before, it has been my journey with Oil Science that has tipped the scale for me and allowed me to experience first-hand the health benefits associated with Cannabidiol.

What is CBD Oil?

Cannabidiol, also referred to as CBD Oil or CBD, is found in the Hemp or Marijuana plant. Tetrahydrocannabinol, known as THC, is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis and it is THC that causes the sensation of feeling “high”. Our products do NOT contain THC, allowing complete health benefits without the mind-altering effects.

Cannabinoids have the powerful ability to act on the cannabinoid receptors that are found in the brain and, as a result, display anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties as well as promote healthy regulation of the immune and central nervous systems. CBD has also been associated with stimulating memory, controlling appetite, maintaining skin health and reducing stress, amongst many other health benefits.

Il’l be perfectly honest and say that in the beginning I kept thinking it was all in my head, but there have been too many instances, too many positive results, too many considerable changes for me to simply put it down to coincidence.

The most noticeable change or perhaps the most drastic result was using the Oil Science drops to treat a bad case of acid reflux. About 8 years ago after Noah’ s birth I was on pain meds for close to 9 months which, no doubt wrecked havoc with my stomach which caused the start of an ulcer. Add to that two more pregnancies with chronic GERD, I have had painful digestive issues arise at different times. Using the CBD oil drops on a a particularly bad night, I experienced first-hand the benefits of taking CBD oil to heal you from the inside. If you missed that post you can read it here

The other positive result has been with testing the CBD Skin Restore Cream which I have been using on my eyebrows after a bad allergic reaction I had to henna dye. About two weeks ago I went for a beauty treatment which involved dying my brows with henna and well, two days later I woke up with itchy eyebrows, which just continued to get worse and worse. By day 4 I literally had hard blisters/burns covering my entire brow-line, it was rather horrific! (For the record my go-to beaty gal Tam has been nothing short of amazing, always checking in on me and so concerned. She obviously had NO idea this was a risk and has stopped using henna after learning about my reaction and now does the brow boost using normal dye. And the result is just incredible, I will definitely give it another go!)

I had to use a strong steroid cream prescribed to me by my skin doctor friend, Dr Bianca who said I needed to use it for 5 days. By the end of the 5 days, my brows were getting much better, but they still looked really inflamed and they were still very red and scabby, a sure sign of scarring! I waited another 2 days and carried on using an over the counter skin restore cream, for very dry skin. I was petrified I would be left with permanent scarring, and the stories I read on Google didn’t help. (Note to self: Don’t google things of this nature and 3 am… you’ll be scarred MENTALLY for life!)

This is what it was looking like after 5/6 days of using the steroid cream, but when red scarring started from the scabs!

I don’t know what took me so long to realise that the answer to my problem was literally under my nose on my dresser, right next to the other cream I had been prescribed. It’s amazing how we have been conditioned to think, how our first response is to use over the counter medications and topical creams when there was something suitable right in front of me. ONLY NATURAL!  I began using the Skin Restore Cream which is more of an oil than a cream really, and within 2 days I noticed the redness start to disappear and my eyebrows begin to settle properly. Once again I doubt it was coincidence that this miraculous plant-based medicinal oil was once again responsible for delivering such impressive results. Oil Science’s CBD  Restore Cream is highly effective in treating a multitude of skin ailments, scarring being one of them. (If only I had read that part when I first received the products to test!) Oil Science’s CBD Skin Restore Cream is a blend of CBD extract, organic coconut oil, shea butter, hemp seed oil and Rose Geranium oil.

This is 12 days post reaction, 6 days of using the CBD oil. All I have on them here is come castor oil, but zero makeup.

It is 100% THC-free and causes no psychoactive effects.

  • 100% natural AND vegan
  • Zero THC
  • Delivery anywhere in South Africa
  • Fully legal

Once again I can’t be 100% certain it was the cream, because had I not used it, might it have healed on its own? Maybe. But I strongly feel it has helped and my in my humble opinion I believe the healing properties of these plants are responsible for my skin’s speedy recovery.

Believe it, don’t believe it, I honestly think it’s at least worth a try. There are far too many stories out there right now and CBD oil is on the rise and taking the health care world by storm.
