For those of you who don’t know, Rouge Day spa is situated in kenilworth and run from a beautiful old house – the perfect combination of old and new. There is something about the atmosphere of this little establishment that makes it hard not to fall in love with it the minute you walk in. I have been to so many Spa’s (usually the ones run from hotels) and I can’t tell you the amount of times I have been left feeling disappointed. No jokes! I have had some of the worst experiences at some of the most high-end hotels around Cape Town – one experience landed me at the doctor with a severe eye infection at 5 months pregnant! Yes from having my eyelashes tinted with dodgy utensils no doubt! While I’m against naming and shaming, it’s hard to sit back and not tell people how they would be better off spending their hard earned cash elsewhere.
I will tell you this though, in my two years of visiting Rouge, I have yet to experience anything less than impeccable service. The minute you walk into Rouge you feel at home. So at home in fact that you don’t want to leave. EVER. I love it more every time I go.
So it really made sense that I would ask them to a host a baby shower I was organising for a friend. They came back to me within an hour telling me that would love to assist – not only did they accommodate us with times but put together a custom package designed specially for us, which catered to our every need. With a group of 13 girls, Lindsay and her amazing team organised a package which included the following : An express mani/pedi, a glass of bubbles, cupcakes , quiches and cheese platters. While the girls mingled and lazed about in front of the open fire, we had our nails taken care of and sipped on bubbles. The lady of the moment was treated to a spa pedicure and couldn’t express enough how incredible it was to have her achy feet rubbed and massaged, while her friends surrounded her, draped over the couches as if we were in our own home. We giggled and ate and spoke about the impending birth and spend some much needed girl time together just catching up.
All the girls who were apart of the evening loved their time at Rouge and it really was the most special night. We performed a little blessing ceremony (for those looking for a meaningful ceremony for a friend’s baby shower or even your own I will be sharing this on the blog tomorrow!) and showered our friend with love. A time that was made all the more special because of the way the lovely team at Rouge took care of us. It was intimate, private, cozy and relaxed. Any third-time-around mom’s favourite things!

I would highly recommend using Rouge Day Spa for any function of this nature – bachelorette parties, birthdays, baby Showers, kitchen teas or even end of the year work functions. I have absolute faith in this team of dynamic girls – that they will make it an occasion to remember.
