All you ladies out there with short eyelashes will know my pain. The struggle is real! Luckily beauty has come a long way in recent years and we aren’t left relying solely on eyelash curlers and thick layers of lengthening mascara in our quest for beautiful lashes.

I have loved my two or three experiences with lash extensions in the past, but truth is I couldn’t keep up with the maintenance. I think if I really tried I could have and maybe it was just the timing of it. I fell pregnant with Hunter soon after my final application and I could no longer sit on my back for such a long period to have them filled. Anyway, I’m sure I will give them a go again at some point, maybe for a special occasion!

But truth is, I may not even have to because I have discovered something just as amazing. Something that is all natural and SUPER effective. An eyelash perm! Or for some, better known as a lash lift! I was sitting with my girlfriends having breakfast the other day and my one friends told us about her visit to Queen Bee a few weeks before and then proceeded to show us before and after pictures. Well, I could believe my eyes, the difference was insane!

I knew I had to make a booking with Tamlyn from Queen Bee as soon as a I could and see if she would work her magic on me! And guys, while the difference was maybe not as drastic as those who actually have medium to long lashes, I was amazed at how effective the lash lift was. My stubby little lashes were transformed into beautiful long lashes with a natural curve to them, making my eyes look bigger!

*The treatment takes about an hour. First Tamlyn applies the perm lotion which takes about 30-40 minutes to set, and then she tints the lashes for an even more drastic look. And the the result is just too incredible!  The price of the lash perm is R500 and an additional R75 for the tint.

And guys this is without mascara! So there’s no denying the lash lift is super effective. And the best news is that is lasts 6-8 weeks!
