Homework has already become a big part of our afternoon routine in our home! What was once met with some resistance, is slowly becoming a time we are enjoying together. With Noah in Grade one, I’m seeing first-hand how the time spent doing homework with him at home, outside of his classroom environment, is a pivotal part of the learning process. It teaches him to be diligent with the re-capping of content taught in class and, how repetition helps him master each subject. And because he is reaping the benefits of this (feeling more confident as he learns), he is more eager to complete his homework with a positive attitude. And his marks are a reflection of this. SCORE!!

And the same can be said about students who makes use of tutors. It really is such a great way for students of all ages to come to grips with the material they working through in class and for them to go into their exams feeling prepared and confident to give it their all. (Flip, I know I could have benefited from something like this hugely when I was younger!!)

This is what I love about SkillUp Tutors! Their belief is that every child can achieve the marks they are worthy of and that with the extra help from a tutor, parents can do their children the greatest service by allowing them the opportunity to excel in areas they may be struggling in.

It’s May and school exams are almost upon us, which means that students are in learning mode, trying to get prepared! The best way to do that is through 1-on-1 tutoring. Research has shown that any student who receives 1-on-1 tutoring scores better than 98% of students who don’t.

Here’s what Nicole De Jager of Cape Town says about her experience using SkillUp:

Using Skillup Tutors was a breath of fresh air, dealing with payments online and reading up on your tutor before hand is just up my alley. Not having to drive up and down to a tutor is so convenient and my child felt far more relaxed at home, not many tutoring venues cater for such young children and she previously had to do math with teens(my daughter is 8 ) the tutor immediately made a connection with her and it was just happy laughter and learning from the dining room. Finally my child was enjoying herself while doing her work, also being able to understand the work properly due to being in a one on one setting and not having to be quiet for other students really made a massive difference (my child is loud even when she’s quiet!) I really recommend Skillup!
